when two lines are perpendicular, their slopes, (m1)(m2)= -1

then the slope of the given line is 1/2.

(1/2)(m2)= -1 m2= -2

then the straight line formula, y-y1=m2(x-x1)

y-4= -2(x-6)

y = -2x + 16
