How does the movement of particles in a stick of butter differ from the movement of particles in a dish of melted butter?

particles in the butter stick  are solids which move about their mean or fixed positions unlike liquid particles in the melted butter that move more freely than solids.

if I'm correct, the particles in the stick of butter do not move because it is a solid. the particles in the dish of melted butter will move because it is a liquid.
