Discuss the differences and similarities between the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Correct Answer:

Students may explain that they came out of the "Great Compromise" and are both part of the legislative branch. Members of both represent the citizens of the United States. Members of both are elected. House of Representatives membership is based upon population, so every member represents 600,000 people in a district within their state. The Senate members represent their states. There are 2 members of Senate from each state.
