A box of marbles can be shared equally among 6,7,or 8 students with 4 marbles left over each time.what is the least possible number of marbles In the box

I found the least common multiple which is 336 and added 4 to get 340.
I tried dividing by all 3 numbers and got a remainder of 4 each time

To find the LCM , do the prime factorizations of each number and use those (no repeats - but there aren't any in this particular example) to find the LCM

6 = 2 x 3
7 = 1 x 7
8 = 2³
So we have 1 x 2⁴ x 3 x 7 = 336
