The given system of equations is:

\begin{gathered} 4x+3y=11\text{ ------(1)} \\ x-y=8\text{ ----(2)} \end{gathered}

To solve by elimination, first multiply equation (2) by 3.

\begin{gathered} 3x-3y=3*8 \\ 3x-3y=24\text{ ------(3)} \end{gathered}

Now , add equations (1) and (3) and solve for x.

\begin{gathered} 4x+3y+3x-3y=11+24 \\ 7x=35 \\ x=(35)/(7) \\ =5 \end{gathered}

Substitute x=5 in equation (2) and solve for y.

\begin{gathered} 5-y=8 \\ -y=8-5 \\ -y=3 \\ y=-3 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the solution is (x, y)=(5, -3)

Option A is correct.
