The correct answer for this question is D - humanists believe that life on earth is important in its own right. The humanist philosophy is that human beings have control over their own lives, and humanists generally reject religious or superstitious ideas in favour of logical thinking.

The answer is D. Life on earth is important in its own right.

According to the American Humanist association, Humanism is a progressive lifestance that, without theism or other supernatural beliefs, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead meaningful, ethical lives capable of adding to the greater good of humanity.

Humanists believe that people create their own set of ethics and moral codes to live by. We don't need religion to respect life and be good people, life is important anyway.
