V'(-1,3) Y'(-1,4), H'(-2,5) and E'(-4,2)

1) Given the coordinates of this figure:

V(-3,3)

Y(-3,4)

H(-2,5)

E(0,2)

To apply a reflection across x=-2 is to do this:

Notice that these are the Pre-image points, the blue line is the line x=-2. We are going to count the distance between each point and the line x=-2 and then move the image to the exact distance to the left or to the right.

2)

Pre-image Image

V(-3,3) V'(-1,3) One unit to the right of the axis x=-2

Y(-3,4) Y'(-1,4) One unit to the right of the axis x=-2

H(-2,5) H'(-2,5) No change for it is on the axis x=-2

E(0,2) E'(-4,2) Two units to the left of the axis=-2
