Answer:

" integers are the collection of all positive and negative whole numbers".

The number line is used to represent integers. we use '+' sign to represent a positive integer and '-' sign is used to represent a negative integer.

integers are very useful in representation of data.

for example:

For a class of 50 students ; if in a class test , '2' marks is given for each correct answer and also there is a negative marking i.e. '-1' is deducted for each incorrect answer.

then we can represent the marks of all the students in a table and the entries in data will be in integers.
