The slope intercept form : y = mx + b

The given equation : -4x + 2y = 12

to write the equation in the slope intercept form, Simplify the equation for y

\begin{gathered} -4x\text{ + 2y =12} \\ \text{Add 4x on both side} \\ 4x-4x+2y=12+4x \\ 2y=12\text{ +4x} \\ \text{Divide both side by 2} \\ (2y)/(2)=(12)/(2)+(4x)/(2) \\ y=6+2x \\ y=2x+6 \end{gathered}

The slope intercept form is y = 2x + 6

Answer : y = 2x + 6
