The leaf is the main site of the photosynthesis in plants. The plants prepare their food with the help of sunlight, water and carbon dioxide and gives off oxygen as a byproduct.

The absorbed color cannot be seen on leaf and its complementary reflected color is visible to us. In low flow of oxygen, the plants starts reflecting the green light. The needed light is not absorbed by the plants due to the low flow of oxygen in green light.

Usually, the color of leaves is green as they contain chlorophyll and it's reflecting the color of chlorophyll but when we look at a leaf, we see the colors of light that are reflected off its surface because chlorophyll in plants gives the leaf its color. The chlorophyll can't absorb oxygen, that is why it causes a reduction in the flow of oxygen and therefore the chlorophyll is green and reflects off green light.
