The main difference was that b) in the French and Indian War the American and the British were allies in the American Revolution War they were not. The French and Indian War was waged mainly against the American settlers and their British counterparts who were determining a large part of what was going on in the colonies, while in the Revolutionary War, the Americans were fighting for freedom from the British.
