Answer: 4 sections

Explanation:

Let the number of pages in a newspaper be x

Given : A news paper has more than 30 pages and fewer than 40 pages.

30<x<40

As the newspaper is divided into sections, and each section has exactly 8 pages, divide the inequality by 8, we get

(30)/(8)<(x)/(8)<(40)/(8)\\\\\Rightarrow3.75<(x)/(8)<5

where number of sections=
(x)/(8)

⇒ Number of sections is greater than 3.75 but less than 5 i.e. 4

Therefore, there are 4 sections in a newspaper .
