The Renaissance had a profound effect on our self-image. During this time period, we were put in the center of attention (this has not always been so, mind you). Because of this, more and more things started revolving aoround the human and his activities. Not only did we put ourselves in the center of attention, we also started appreciating different scientific disciplines more, which at the time were in their infancy.
