The type of historical text that typically is a collection of articles or essays with a common theme is the anthology.
An anthology is a compilation of notable works for some particular reason, of someone or something specific (historical, literary, cinematographic, musical, etc.).
In the literary context, an anthology would contain a selection of texts by an author. It is common in poetry (poetic anthology) but can also occur in other genres, such as fables, essays or stories. The anthology can be of a thematic, literary or personal and arbitrary nature.
