Question

11/15 + (-5 1/2) I know the answer is -4 23/30 but I can't get it. I've done this so far:

11/15 + (-5 1/2)
11/15 - 5 1/2

It helps me to convert the fractions into decimals, so 11/15=.73 and -5 1/2= -5.5.

Next, just add -5.5 to .73, you should get -4.77, then convert that back to a fraction and get -4 23/30 :)
