If you're familiar with factoring and expanding brackets, just expand the expression to 3*(500+80+4). Then use distributive property and basic arithmetic to find the answer. The answer, by the way, is 1742.

584 in expanded form is equal to


584=5*100+8*10+4*1

so


3*584 is equal to


3*(5*100+8*10+4*1)=15*100+24*10+12*1\\ =1,500+240+12\\ =1,752

therefore

the answer is
