the water helps the car slide just a little bit if you drive in a wet climate but in a dry climate the car does all the work. for example when you slide across ice with sneakers. on a dry surface you cant slide, but an a icy surface you start but the ice does the rest.

automobiles rust faster in wet climate because the chemical reaction between the metal and the iron, oxygen or water breaks down, or oxidizes, the metal causing the appearance of rust.
