Why do automobiles rust faster in wet climates than in drier climates?

the water helps the car slide just a little bit if you drive in a wet climate but in a dry climate the car does all the work. for example when you slide across ice with sneakers. on a dry surface you cant slide, but an a icy surface you start but the ice does the rest.
