"The lithosphere is subdivided into tectonic plates. The upper part of the lithosphere which chemically reacts to the atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere through the soil forming process is called the pedosphere. The lithosphere is underlain by the athenosphere which is the weaker, hotter, deeper part of the upper mantle."

Answer :

A system is a collection of interacting, interrelated, or interdependent parts creating a complicated body. So if lithosphere is a method then the top mantle-stratosphere, coat, tectonic plates, volcanoes on a shell, hills, fields and other geological characteristics are its segments. There will be inter communications among these segments. For example, the displacement of tectonic plates forms ridges, drains, produces volcanoes, earthquakes, etc. It affects people because people live on the surface of the planet i.e., on a crust and the crustal characteristics will change the way of life, gives sources for the survival of humans, the crustal changes will create damage and loss of human lives.
