15 and 9 are the two ages so so hank is 9.

How to solve this:

1. 5x + 3x = 24
2. x(5+3) = 24
3. x = 24/(5+3)
4. x = 24/(8)
5. x= 8
6. 5*3 = 15 (Sam) 3*3 = 9 (Hanks)
