(5/8) x (2/3) = 5/12

(5/12) / 5 people= 1/12 pound each.

we know that

Marianne has
(5)/(8) pound of peas

If she cooks
(2)/(3) pound of peas of the total

then

Marianne cooks
(5)/(8) *(2)/(3) =(10)/(24) =(5)/(12) \ pounds

to calculate the quantity of peas served to each person

Divide
(5)/(12) \ pounds by
5

((5)/(12))/(5) =(5)/(12*5) =(1)/(12) \ pounds

therefore

the answer is

(1)/(12) \ pounds
