He was excited and optimistic about his future, determined to become a lawyer, until a teacher told him that the color of his skin made such a dream unachievable. Disillusioned, he dropped out, moved to Boston, and, still a teenager, began selling drugs and engaging in other criminal activity.

Malcolm was very excited for his future. He was trying really hard to accomplish his goals. Malcolm was a very successful student until he was told mean things that made him want to quit. He dropped out of school and started doing bad things because of the people at his school being racist towards him. He probably would have been very successful and happy if it weren’t for his peers and teachers doubting him.
