What is equivalent to

Multiply both the numerator (top) and denominator (bottom) by any number (the same for both), and you'll have a fraction that is equivalent to the fraction you gave.

For example, multiply both by 2, and you have 6/10, which is equivalent to 3/5. Multiply both by 8, and you have 24/40, which is also equivalent to 3/5.
