Therefore, in our case,


\begin{gathered} \Rightarrow cos(45\degree)=(s)/(8√(2)) \\ \Rightarrow s=8√(2)cos(45\degree) \\ \Rightarrow s=8√(2)((√(2))/(2))=8*(2)/(2)=8 \\ \Rightarrow s=8 \end{gathered}
