Just divide 7 3/4 by 3/4. Turn 7 3/4 into a improper fraction which will be 31/4, and then divide by 3/4. The answer is 31/3 as an improper fraction and as a proper fraction the answer is 10 1/3

Answer:

10 minutes 20 seconds

Explanation:

It is given that the flat head rail tunnel in Montana is about
7(3)/(4) miles long.

Length of rail tunnel =
7(3)/(4)=(28+3)/(4)=(31)/(4)

A train travels at a speed of 3/4 miles per minute.

Speed=(3)/(4) miles

The formula for time is

Time=(Distance)/(Speed)

Time=((31)/(4))/((3)/(4))

Time=(31)/(3)

Time=10(1)/(3)

(10(1)/(3))\text{ minutes}=10 \text{ minutes}+(1)/(3)\text{ minutes}=10 \text{ minutes}+20\text{ seconds}

Therefore, the time taken by the train to go through the tunnel is 10 minutes 20 seconds.
