this should help you, Simplifying 4(2 + 3c) = 56 (2 * 4 + 3c * 4) = 56 (8 + 12c) = 56 Solving 8 + 12c = 56 Solving for variable 'c'. Move all terms containing c to the left, all other terms to the right. Add '-8' to each side of the equation. 8 + -8 + 12c = 56 + -8 Combine like terms: 8 + -8 = 0 0 + 12c = 56 + -8 12c = 56 + -8 Combine like terms: 56 + -8 = 48 12c = 48 Divide each side by '12'. c = 4 Simplifying c = 4
