I have one proposal to tackle unemployment: splitting some contracts into smaller ones.
I have noticed that often people struggle with a lack of work, and when they find a job, they struggle with free time, but have more money that they can reasonably need - so they end up spending it on the things they don't actually need.
If we however split their job into two of 20 hours a week each (rather than 40), two people could benefit from the money, but both people could also have more time to think about spending this money better and to pursue their other interests. I also believe that the quality of work would increase.
I really believe that smaller contracts is a good way to tackle unemployment and that it also has potential other benefits, such as more effective work and happier society.
