convert the mixed number(s) into improper fractions. multiply the improper fractions together and then convert your answer back into a mixed number if needed.

for example:
2 1/2 * 4 3/5
=
3/2 * 23/5
=
69/10
=
6 9/10

Turn it into a improper fraction and then multiply both the numerator and denominator together!
So like 1 1/2 x 2 1/2
Turn that into improper fractions and get 3/2x5/2
then you get 15/2 which is 7 1/2
