3x-7=5x+13
-13 -13
___________

3x-20=5x
-3x -3x
__________

-20 = 2x
-20 divided by 2
x = -10

$3x-7=5x+13\ \ |+7 \\ \\3x-7+7=5x+13+7\\ \\3x=5x+20 \ \ |(-5x)\\ \\3x-5x=5x-5x+20 \\ \\-2x=20 \ \ / :(-2)\\ \\ x=-(20)/(2)\\ \\x= -10$
