4 2 as a fraction because your doing the unshaded and the shaded part of the ratio so that would be in a fraction to 4 and 2 as a fraction

Answer:

The value of the ratio of the number of shaded pieces to the number of unshaded pieces is 2 or 2/1

Explanation:

Consider the provided information.

The ratio of the number of shaded sections to the number of unshaded sections is 4 to 2.

This can be written as:

4:2

We need to find the value of the ratio of the number of shaded pieces to the number of unshaded pieces.

The ratio of number of shaded sections to unshaded section is the same as the number of shaded pieces to the number of unshaded pieces.

For example see the figure 1.

Here the shaded and unshaded sections and shaded and unshaded pieces are the same thing.

Thus, the ratio can be written as:

\frac{\text{shaded pieces}}{\text{unshaded pieces}}=(4)/(2)

\frac{\text{shaded pieces}}{\text{unshaded pieces}}=(2)/(1)

Hence, the value of the ratio of the number of shaded pieces to the number of unshaded pieces is 2 or 2/1

The ratio of the number of shaded sections to the number of unshaded sections is 4 to-example-1
