-1(x + 2) = 2(3x - 6)

First, simplify 1 × (x + 2) to (x + 2) / Your problem should look like:
-x - 2 = 2(3x - 6)
Second, expand. / Your problem should look like:
-x - 2 = 6x - 12
Third, add x to both sides. / Your problem should look like:
-2 = 6x - 12 + x
Fourth, simplify 6x - 12 + x to get 7x - 12. / Your problem should look like:
-2 = 7x - 12
Fifth, add 12 to both sides. / Your problem should look like:
-2 + 12 = 7x
Sixth, add -2 + 12 to get 10. / Your problem should look like:
10 = 7x
Seventh, divide both sides by 7. / Your problem should look like:
(10)/(7) = x
Eighth, switch your sides. / Your problem should look like:
x = (10)/(7)

Answer: x =
(10)/(7)
Answer as decimal: 1.4286

-1(x+2)=2(3x-6)

-1(x+2)=2(3x-6)distributhing -1 through parantheses

-1x+(-1)*2=2(3x-6)

-x-2=2(3x-6) distributhing 2 through parantheses

-x-2=2*3x-2*6

-x-2=6x-2*6

-x-2=6x-12 add x

-2=6x-12+x

-2=7x-12 add 12

-2+12=7x

10=7x divide by 7

x= (10)/(7)
Answer : x= 1 3/7
