What role did maize corn play in shaping native American societies

Well, it played a pretty huge one. It shaped Native American societies because it basically was one of the only crops that could adapt to any climate, so it could be planted anywhere. Although the role it played was keeping the Native Americans alive.

Maize (corn) played an incredibly important role in shaping native American societies, since it was one of the few foods that could grow on the land and had a stream of nutritional benefits.
