Why did Puritans choose to live in communities rather than on individual farms?

Because they believed it made them look stronger as a whole to live closer together. They also did this to try to get other people become puritan.

Puritans chose to live in communities rather than on individual farms due to the fact that they wanted to be near the church and the pastor as they were very religious and their life centered around the church.

Puritans were members of a religious reform movement denominated Puritanism that arose within the Church of England in the late sixteenth century.
