Answer:

4x –y = 8, the point (-4, 3)

Let’s say y = 0

=> 4x – 8

=> 4x / 4 = 8 /4

=> x = 2

So the point is (2 , 0).

Now, we have 2 forms, the (2,0) and the (-4, 3)

=> (y2 – y1)(x2 – x1) = m

=> m = (0 - 3)(2-(-4))

=> m = (0 - 3)(2+4)

=> m = (-3)(6)

=> m = -1/2

Thus,

y = -1/2x + a

=> 0 = -1 + a so a = 1

y = -x/2 + 1

1. 4x –y = 8, the point (-4, 3)
Let’s say y = 0
=> 4x – 8
=> 4x / 4 = 8 /4
=> x = 2
So the point is (2 , 0).
Now, we have 2 forms, the (2,0) and the (-4, 3)
=> (y2 – y1)(x2 – x1) = m
=> m = (0 - 3)(2-(-4))
=> m = (0 - 3)(2+4)
=> m = (-3)(6)
=> m = -1/2
Thus,
y = -1/2x + a
=> 0 = -1 + a so a = 1
y = -x/2 + 1
