In the problem, “if an area is measured to be 9.1 square meters what is the area in square yards” The given is:
Area = 9.1 meter2
Formula: Since to get the area you have to have length and width hence the formula of area which is:
Area = length x width
We can derive the equation. As length x area = area2
Solution:
Length = area2
Length = square root of 9.1 meter squared
Length = 3.02 meters

Conversion: 1 meter = 1.1 yard 3.02 meters x 1.1 yard / 1 meter = 3.322 yard
Area = (3.322 yard)^2
Area = 11.04 yard
