7x + 3(x - 2) - 4x + 8

First, gather like terms. / Your problem should look like: (7x - 4x) + 3(x - 2) + 8
Second, simplify. / Your problem should look like: 3x + 3 (x - 2) + 8
Third, expand. / Your problem should look like: 3x + 3x - 6 + 8
