Angelique says that finding the absolute value of a number is the same as finding the opposite of the number. For example |-5|=5. Explain her error

If u r trying 2 find the absolute value of a positive number, the absolute value of it will not be a negative, it will always be a positive.

Answer:

⇒Absolute Value of a Number is always Positive , while the opposite of a number is finding the Additive inverse of a Number, that is they add to zero, when two opposite numbers are added.

|+x|=x, |+5|=5

|-x|=x, |-5|=5

And Opposite of 5 is -5 and Opposite of -5 is 5 because, -5+5=0 ,also, addition satisfies commutative Property, so (+5)+(-5)=0, will give same result.
