4y - 70 = 12y + 2\\4y= 12y + 72\\ -8y = 72\\\\ y=-9

4y - 70 = 12 y + 2

taking all the components to one side ,

4 y - 12 y- 70 -2 = 0
- 8y - 72 =0
-8y = 72
therefore , on solving ,
y= -9
