.

We were given,

X(-7,10)

Y(3,4)

Required to find;

XY

Recall,

XY is the distance between X and Y

Therefore,

XY will be given by

XY=√((x_2-x_1)^2+)(y_2-y_1)^2

On substitution:

\begin{gathered} XY=√((3--7)^2+(4-10)^2) \\ XY=√(10^2+6^2) \\ XY=√(100+36) \\ XY=√(136) \\ XY=2√(34) \\ XY=\text{ 11.66} \end{gathered}

Therefore XY = 11.66 units
