6x-x/7=6/7=.857 because 6x-x=6 and / by 7=.857

So,


(x)/(6) - (x)/(7) =ab

Multiply both sides by the LCM of 6 and 7 (42).

7x - 6x=42ab

Collect Like Terms.
x = 42ab
