A movie theater sold a total of 520 adult and child tickets on a certain day. The theater sold 2.25 times as many adult tickets as child tickets. Each adult ticket cost $8 and each child ticket cost $3. How much revenue did the theater generate in ticket sales that day?

total tickets sold = 520
Adult tickets = 2.25*child tickets
so, 2.25 child tickets + child tickets = 520
no of child tickets = 520/3.25 = 160
no of adult tickets = 160*2.25 = 360
total revenue = 160*3+360*8
= 480+ 2880
=$3360
