The middle school band has 56 members. The high school band ha 96 members. The bands are going to march one after the other in a parade. The director wants to arrange the bands into the same number of columns. What is the greatest number of columns in which the two bands can be arranged if each column has the same number of marchers? How many band members will be in each column?

There are 2 different bands, the middle school band and the high school band.
Middle school band = 56 members
High school band = 96 members.
Find the number of columns and number of each band member in each bands.
=> Middle school
=> 56 members
=> 2 x 2 x 2 x 7
=> 8 x 7 is equals to 56
Thus the number of column is 8 and there will be 7 members in each column.
-> High school
=> 96 Members
=> 2 x 2 x 2 x 12
=> 8 x 12 is equals to 96
Thus the number of column is 8 and there will be 12 members in each column.
