Garden measures:

Width(w) : 35 feet

Length(L) : 44 feet

Then, add the measures of the path

35+3 = 38

44+3 =47

Apply the perimeter formula:

P = 2w+ 2L

Replace:

P = 2(35)+2(44) = 70+88=158

Dan needs 158 feet of fencing material to enclose the garden and path.
