The correct answer is Option C

Soil is the outermost layer of the earth surface and it is formed by weathering of rocks. Rocks breaks down and combine with water, air and other organic material. The water from river carry the small particles of the rock and sediment formed is also in the form of soil. Breaking of rock into small particles by the effect of water and wind contributes in soil formation. This is a slow process.
