8 x 64

= 8 x ( 60 + 4 )

= 8 x ( 6 x 10 + 4 )

= 8 x 6 x 10 + 8 x 4

= 48 x 10 + 32

= 480 + 32

= 480 + 20 + 12

= 500 + 12

= 512
