What happens if Cecil goes any number of feet in one direction and then goes the same number of feet the other direction? Where does he end up? How do you know?

He will end up where he started. Imagine Cecil on a number scale. Say he starts on 0, and goes forward 5 steps. If he also goes back 5 steps, he will be back at 0.

Answer:

Cecil will end up at the start point.

Explanation:

If Cecil goes any number of feet in one direction and then goes the same number of feet the other direction, then -

Cecil will end up at the same starting point, because those numbers will be inverse of each other and their sum will be 0.

Like if a person starts from 0 and goes 10 steps in the right, and then again reverses back 10 steps towards 0, then his final position will be 0.
