Solve x=9 for x:
Substitute 9 for x in y=4x−1:
y=4x−1
y=(4)(9)−1
y=35(Simplifed both sides of the equation)

8x9 which is 72
1+ (4x9)
4x9= 26
Y = 72-27 which is 35 AND +1
so Y= 35!
