f(x) = 2x² + x - 3
g(x) = x - 1
(f - g)(x) = (2x² + x - 3) - (x - 1)
(f - g)(x) = 2x² + (x - x) + (-3 + 1)
(f - g)(x) = 2x² - 2

The answer is D.
