x² + 3x - 10 = 0
x = -(3) ± √((3)² - 4(1)(-10))
2(1)
x = -3 ± √(9 + 40)
2
x = -3 ± √(49)
2
x = -3 ± 7
2
x = -3 + 7 U x = -3 - 7
2 2
x = 4 U x = -10
2 2
x = 2 U x = -5
Solution Set: {2, -5}
