WORTH 15 POINTS!!!!

A tropical species of mite named A.L. is the record holder for the strongest insect in the world. It can lift up to 1.182 x 10^3 times its own weight. Two questions about this:

1. If you were as strong as this insect, explain how many pounds you could lift.

2. Complete the calculation to find how much you could lift, in pounds, if you were as strong as an A.L. mite. Express your answer in both standard and scientific notation.

1. The Three in the 10^3 stands for how many times you move the decimal over ( to the right in this case )

1182 times its own weight is your answer for calculations

2. scientific notation = 1.182 x 10^3 = 1182.0

Standard = 1,000 + 100 + 80 + 2
