Because the speed is Distance/Time, so we can model the question as 40(Meters in 5 seconds)/5(Number of seconds it took to travel 40 meters)
40/5=8
So The unit rate is 8 metres per second, or 480 metres per minute

it's equivalent to 8 meters per second. (you divide it by 5). it is also 480 meters per minute.
